My daughter Katherine has been dancing since she was three. When she was six
I decided to give NDA a try. She took one ballet class and I quickly realized
that the studio you choose does make a difference.

I was so impressed not only by the teachers, but the office and organization
that the next year I signed Katherine up for pre-competition. My favorite part
of Katherine’s experience was having her around the other dancers and parents.
It was a real family environment. The older dancers were so kind and patient
with the younger dancers. The parents all became parents to the entire group.
There was a sense of team work and cooperation that I did not expect at the team
dance level.

Though my focus was making sure Katherine was in a healthy, happy
environment, she grew as a dancer more than I ever thought she could in one
year. Her flexibility, strength and most of all confidence as a dancer surpassed
my expectations. Next season I am definitely hoping Katherine will be picked for
a full competition team. The commitment is worth the outcome.

When our daughter was 3 years old, she spent as much time dancing as running
or walking! We wanted to enroll her in a dance program so she would learn
correct technique, as she was enjoying dance movement.

After checking out all of the options for dance instruction in Northfield, we
selected Northfield Dance Academy (NDA) because of their high quality of
instruction, reasonable class sizes, and attention to correct technique. Our
daughter has taken classes in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop, and loves
them all!

Nicole has chosen to be on an NDA competition team and we attend 4 or 5 dance
competitions each year. Most are held in the Twin Cities at places like the
Orpheum Theater and Riverfront Centre. Competition dance has opened our eyes to
dance styles and opportunities outside of Northfield. When we see dance teams
from other studios at competitions, it is obvious we are getting great quality
instruction and coaching right in our hometown.

We have seen tremendous growth in our daughter’s dance skills, as well as her
enthusiasm for dance during the past 5 years. We thank you, NDA, for all you
have done to foster this growth!

My daughter recently completed her first year of pre-competition dancing at
Northfield Dance Academy. I’ve learned that it’s about much more than dancing
for the teachers and the students. The teachers truly have a passion for what
they do. My daughter not only learned dance skills but also about teamwork and
what it’s like to belong. She gained a new level of confidence in herself and
made some wonderful friends. I was impressed with the older students and
competition dancers. From the beginning they made the young dancers feel welcome
as they cheered them on and continued to be role models throughout the year. I
hope my daughter can do the same someday.

I like Northfield Dance Academy because they have really nice teachers there and
you can make a lot of new friends. We do really cool dance moves and they pick
out good songs to dance to.

The NDA dance studio has been a wonderful all around experience for our family.
Just knowing that my daughter who isn’t able to participate in competitions, but
was welcomed into the general dance categories was great! The experience has
been very positive and nurturing. The music the girls danced to has been age
appropriate. The costumes the girls have worn have also been age appropriate.
The students have been encouraged to do their best and have a good time doing
it. Being able to join her group at other town functions during the year has
been very fun too. It has been an awesome experience.

NDA is a very professionally run dance academy. The director and teachers
understand what the students need to succeed in dance and life outside of dance.
This philosophy shows through in how the classes are run and in what my daughter
has obviously gained from her experience at NDA. The director and teachers are
successful in bringing out the best in the students. They have the ability to
find the talent a student might not have been aware he/she has, and nourish that

Our daughter has been dancing at Northfield Dance Academy for 3 years and

There is nothing like watching your daughter perform during a competition, it
warms the heart. Thanks to NDA she always has the confidence to go on stage and

Northfield Dance Academy is much more than simply a place for my child to dance.
