July 8-11: 10:00-3:00 “Barbie’s Dance Extravaganza” (Ages 6-18) Performance @ 7 pm Thursday at Carleton
July 22-24: 10:00-1:00 “Harry Potter Dance Camp” (ages 6-18) Performance @1pm at NDA
July 29-30: 10:00-12:00 Dance Intensive Prep Camp (ages MS/HS)

Summer 2024 Classes Begin June 17th- August 7th
Evening classes: 7 classes in a session (No classes week of July 4th)
30 minute class $70 for the entire session or $15 for drop in classes.
45 minute class $75 for the entire session or $16 for drop in classes.
60 minute class $80 for the entire session or $17 for drop in classes.

Just a snippet about each camp:
Raise the Barre is our teacher workshop for student teachers and assistants (Required for all returning and upcoming teachers and assistants, rising 7th graders – 12th graders). This workshop will be taught by multiple teachers of NDA to provide a depth of teaching wisdom. We will focus on teaching all ages and all disciplines of dance. Students will learn how to create curriculum, plan classes, and set choreography that is age and skill-appropriate. This class will also have a minimum of 2 required preschool classes for the students to teach and be observed by the faculty during the summer season.
“Spirited Away” Join us for our first-ever Middle School only summer composition camp! “Spirited Away” is for rising 6th-8th graders in Modern and/or Ballet. The camp will explore repertoire and choreography from faculty and students. We will have a performance at the Weitz Center for Creativity on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
“Howl’s Moving Castle” is for the HS Intermediate/Advanced dancers. This will be a camp where we can really stretch our wings in the idiom of Ballet, Pointe and Modern. It will be less narrative and more abstract and advanced. Dancers will learn Repertoire but also have a chance to choreograph their own work as well. It will be produced at the Weitz Center.
“Barbie’s Dance Extravaganza” will be a traditional BIG Dance Theatre Production, following all the Barbie and Kens and will be a blast for all dancers 6-18. It will also be produced at the Weitz Center.
“Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince” will be our most laid back camp with a production in the park behind the studio. But as always, it will be Potter FUN!
